"They're poisoning the blood of our country. The only thing I would have liked to have seen more of was the meeting of the other people who could "see." A scene where they are all gathered together and talking about their experiences would be amazing and tantalizing. With less than a month until the first votes are cast in the 2024 Republican primary, former President Donald Trump spent his latest rally in New Hampshire praising multiple authoritarian leaders and quoting Russian President Vladimir Putin to try and discredit the criminal indictments against him - while sparking new backlash from critics that his anti-immigrant sentiment echoes Adolf Hitler. You don't see that very much in films and I thought it was great that this couple was shown spending time working on their relationship, especially those aspects that brought them together as opposed to just their devotion to their children. I have the Blu-Ray and after watching it again recently, one of the things that I love about it is how the married couple have lives away from their kids and this is presented as a normal thing. "Stir of Echoes" is equally dark and disturbing, the climax leaves you with a more hopeful feeling. Of course, "The Sixth Sense" has a really good story and the performances are excellent, but its ending is quite tragic. This makes the film more engaging on repeat viewings because the twist is not the main selling point of the story. I think it's better than "The Sixth Sense" because it doesn't rely so heavily on a twist ending to be memorable. Also, how do you compare it to the novel from Richard Matheson? Did you enjoy both or did you prefer one over the other? What did you think of Stir of Echoes & the performances in it? Did the twists catch you offguard? Did it scare you? For those that have the DVD, did the menu screens creep you out? I won't lie, they're pretty damn creepy. It doesn't get talked about much but it's still a great horror flick with a nice soundtrack. I always felt that Kevin Bacon was really good in this film & wished that we got a sequel with the cast returning, I think it could've been good, shame that we never got it. It scared her but she still enjoyed the film, said that the menus added to the atmosphere & creep factor. The DVD's menus are pretty creepy too lol, I had a friend that was pretty terrified of the film from the main menus alone, she had never heard of the film but when she saw the menu screen, she was creeped out immediately. I thought that cast were likable, they all felt like close friends in the neighborhood & you feel for them when weird things start to happen. Kevin Bacon, Kathryn Erbe, Kevin Dunn, Jennifer Morrison, Illenna Douglas, Eddie Bo Smith Jr., Liza Weil etc. I loved the cast of actors in this film as well. ![]() Nice eerie atmosphere throughout the film. Really loved the twists & turns in the film, I honestly didn't see them coming at all. It's a shame that some saw it as a Sixth Sense rip-off when it first came out simply because it involved a little kid character that saw ghosts, it was a completely different type of story altogether. ![]() One of my favorite horror films with Kevin Bacon hands down, it's so creepy, despite numerous rewatches, it still has that creep factor.
